INDONESIA TARGETS INDUSTRIAL EXPANSION OUTSIDE JAVA FOR 2026
The Ministry of Industry targets a 33.25% industrial contribution from regions outside Java by 2026 to reduce economic inequality. Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita set a 5.51% growth target for non-oil and gas processing, aiming for an 18.56% GDP contribution. With 2025 growth (5.58%) finally outpacing national economic growth, the ministry plans to shift focus from domestic dominance—currently absorbing 78% of output—toward global exports. Additional 2026 goals include capturing 74.85% of national exports, increasing labor productivity, and cutting 6.79 million tons of CO2 emissions.Source: https://www.antaranews.com/berita/5376558/kemenperin-targetkan-kontribusi-industri-luar-jawa-3325-persen-2026 (ICE GIACARTA)
