TELKOMSAT SIGNS COOPERATION AGREEMENT TO STRENGTHEN SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS I

PT Telkom Satelit Indonesia (Telkomsat) signed a Four‑Party Strategic Cooperation Agreement with China Telecom Satellite Communications Branch (CTSC), PT China Telecom Indonesia (CTID), and PT Skyconn Satelit Indonesia (Skyconn). The partnership aims to accelerate the development and implementation of satellite communication services in Indonesia, supporting emergency communications and expanding connectivity in underserved and remote regions, especially in the country’s 3T (frontier, outermost, underdeveloped) areas. Telkomsat President Director Lukman Hakim Abd Rauf emphasized that the collaboration strengthens efforts to reinforce Indonesia’s national connectivity ecosystem and establishes a foundation for broader long‑term cooperation. With five active satellites, over 70 Gbps of total capacity, and more than 30,000 network nodes serving 3.5 million users, Telkomsat continues to play a major role in delivering connectivity where terrestrial infrastructure is limited. Lukman highlighted that bridging the digital divide is both a technological and social responsibility, and expressed optimism that the partnership—supported by China Telecom Satellite’s achievements in emergency and inclusive communications—will create sustainable value and contribute significantly to Indonesia’s digital transformation.Source: https://indonesiabusinesspost.com/5980/corporate-affairs/telkomsat-signs-cooperation-agreement-to-strengthen-satellite-communications-in-indonesia# (ICE GIACARTA)
