INDONESIA EYES GLOBAL INVESTMENT AT BALI'S OCEAN IMPACT SUMMIT 2026
Indonesia is positioning itself to attract greater global investment in the maritime and fisheries sector through the Ocean Impact Summit (OIS) 2026, scheduled for June 8–9 in Bali. The event, supported by the World Economic Forum (WEF), is expected to give Indonesia direct access to international investors and industry leaders. According to Desri Yanti of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, the summit aims to secure investment commitments, strengthen public–private partnerships, and shift the national maritime agenda from a conservation‑only approach toward sustainable economic utilization. Indonesia hopes to use its vast maritime resources as a foundation for innovation, job creation, and inclusive blue‑economy growth, reinforcing the country’s ambition to become a global maritime hub. OIS 2026 is also intended to enhance Indonesia’s leadership in the global maritime and fisheries domain. As the world’s largest archipelagic nation, Indonesia seeks to leverage the summit to catalyze financing initiatives and long‑term partnerships that support maritime development and the blue economy. The WEF’s official support was formalized through a Letter of Intent signed in Davos between Minister Sakti Wahyu Trenggono and WEF managing directors Sebastian Buckup and Maroun Kairouz, marking a significant step toward deeper cooperation and international engagement in Indonesia’s maritime future.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/401998/indonesia-eyes-global-investment-at-balis-ocean-impact-summit-2026 (ICE GIACARTA)
