MALAYSIA STRENGTHEN LEADERSHIP IN SUSTAINABLE AVIATION WITH FIRST SAF PLANT IN JOHOR
Pasir Gudang, 26 January 2026 – Malaysia has strengthened its leadership in sustainable aviation and energy transition with the launch of its first commercial-scale sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) plant at Tanjung Langsat, which aligns with the Malaysia Aviation Decarbonisation Blueprint (MADB) and the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR). The EcoCeres Renewable Fuel Sdn Bhd facility converts certified waste-based biomass into SAF, renewable diesel and other bio-based products, supporting a 1% initial SAF blending target, strengthening local supply chains, and creating opportunities for Malaysian SMEs. With a licensed capacity of 350,000 tonnes and a total production capacity of up to 420,000 tonnes per year, the project enhances Malaysia’s position as a leading SAF producer in ASEAN while advancing national sustainability, economic growth and low-carbon development goals.Source - https://www.bernamabiz.com/news.php?id=2516975 (ICE KUALA LUMPUR)
