Director General of the Department of Statistics Haider Freihat confirmed that the population census has reached the third of its four phases and is expected to be completed by next June. Freihat explained that Jordan’s population is nearing 12 million, with approximately 70% holding Jordanian citizenship. He noted that the most recent census was conducted in 2015, and that since then the department has relied on annual population estimates at the locality level.
