INDONESIA SECURES ADDITIONAL US$400M FOR JUST ENERGY TRANSITION PROJECTS

Indonesia’s Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) funding will increase by US$400 million, bringing the total commitment to US$21.8 billion. According to Coordinating Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto, Germany’s development bank KfW has recently committed financing for two energy transition projects, including the Saguling Floating Solar Power Plant. While US$21.4 billion has been secured so far, only around US$3.1 billion has been used. Over 20 projects are currently being prepared for potential JETP financing. Priority initiatives include the Saguling floating solar project, the Muara Laboh geothermal expansion, waste-to-energy in Legok Nangka, the Sulawesi transmission network, wind power in South Sumatra, and a national de-dieselization program. Funding comes from the International Partners Group (US$11 billion) and GFANZ- Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (US$10 billion). To accelerate progress, the government has formed the Energy Transition and Green Economy Task Force (Satgas TEH) to improve funding use, support Indonesia’s climate commitments, and lay groundwork for JETP 2.0.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/403194/indonesia-secures-additional-400m-for-just-energy-transition-projects (ICE GIACARTA)
