Posidonia returns larger than ever, reflecting the dynamic of shipping and the industry’s commitment to utilizing the Exhibition as the most important meeting platform for the global shipping community every two years. The 50,000 square meters of exhibition space at the Metropolitan Expo have been sold out months in advance, while thousands of exhibitors and visitors from 140 countries will once again gather in Athens in June.Italy and Germany return to the Exhibition with National Pavilions this year after a long absence, with marine equipment manufacturers and service providers from both countries showcasing their solutions. Posidonia has for years been a magnet not only for shipyards and suppliers of marine equipment and services, but also for the financial, insurance and technology sectors, reflecting the collective strength and growing momentum of the AHS order book, the announcement highlights. In 2025, Greek shipowners placed 250 orders for newbuildings. Greek shipowners also rank second worldwide in second-hand ship purchases (behind only the Chinese, with around 260 purchases completed last year.With many of the side events being organised in the 15 days before the Exhibition, the total duration of Posidonia is significantly extended. Topics to be discussed will include geopolitical developments, environmental regulatory requirements and, of course, technological developments and the potential benefits that the use of Artificial Intelligence could offer in shipping.Posidonia 2026 is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Shipping and Insular Policy, the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping and the Greek Shipowners' Association.
