CHINA TO ASSIGN DIGITAL IDS TO EV BATTERIES FOR BETTER RECYCLING
China will assign unique digital IDs to new energy vehicle power batteries (per Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and 5 ministries’ rules) for full-lifecycle supervision and recycling. Over 400,000 tonnes of retired batteries were reused in 2025 (+32.9% YoY), with 2030 retirement to top 1mn tonnes, addressing environmental and safety risks. (ICE PECHINO)
