CROATIA: EXPORTS UP 4.4% TO EUR 25.1 BILLION IN 2025, EU TRADE OUTPACES NON-EU

According to the State Bureau of Statistics (DZS) initial data released on Friday, in 2025, Croatia increased merchandise exports by 4.4% to EUR 25.1 billion and imports by 3.3% to EUR 44.3 billion. The data show that trade with the European Union (EU) recorded stronger growth than trade with non-EU countries.The DZS data showed that in 2025, merchandise exports rose by 4.4% year on year to EUR 25.1 billion, while imports increased by 3.3% to EUR 44.3 billion. Foreign trade deficit totaled EUR 19.2 billion, with exports covering 56.7% of imports.According to the DZS, in the 12 months of last year Croatia increased exports to EU member states by 5.6% to EUR 16.6 billion, while exports to non-EU countries rose by 2.2% to EUR 8.5 billion, HRT reports. Imports from EU member states grew by 1.3% to EUR 34.1 billion, while imports from non-member countries increased by 10.5% to EUR 10.1 billion. The DZS data also showed that in the first eleven months of 2025 exports rose by 5.2% year on year to EUR 23.1 billion, while imports increased by 3.8% to EUR 41 billion. These figures represent a slight revision of the initial November data published on 9 January, which showed exports up by 5% and imports up by 3.2% compared with the same period of 2024. The foreign trade deficit from January to November 2025 amounted to EUR 17.9 billion, while import coverage by exports was 56.4%.Among Croatia main foreign trade partners, in the first eleven months of last year, Croatian exports to Germany increased by 11.6% to EUR 2.97 billion, with imports from Germany rising by 5.5% to almost EUR 6 billion. Exports to Slovenia grew by 12.1% to EUR 2.7 billion and imports by 4.9% to EUR 4.9 billion, while exports to Italy rose by 4.8% to nearly EUR 2.7 billion and imports from Italy fell by 7.9% to EUR 4.9 billion (ICE ZAGABRIA)
