INDONESIA TARGETS EIGHT UPSTREAM OIL AND GAS PROJECTS TO GO ONSTREAM IN 2026
Indonesia’s Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Task Force (SKK Migas) plans to bring eight upstream projects onstream in 2026, backed by a total capital expenditure of US$478 million. These projects span oil, gas, and condensate developments across several Production Sharing Contract (PSC) areas, and are expected to boost production by 8,200 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and 214 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (MMSCFD). The combined design capacity of the projects is even higher—8,500 BOPD and 389 MMSCFD—reflecting strong potential for national energy reinforcement. Key oil developments include Pertamina Hulu Rokan’s Sedingin North‑1 facility (325 BOPD, Q4 2026), the Polymer Minas Area D project (1,212 BOPD, Q2 2026), and Pertamina EP’s Puspa Asri Field (1,034 BOPD, Q4 2026). Major condensate and gas projects are also scheduled to begin operations throughout 2026. These include the South Senoro Phase II project, expected to produce 2,800 barrels of condensate per day and 110 MMSCFD of gas starting in Q1 2026, and the offshore OO‑OX development adding 2,996 BCPD. Gas production will be further supported by the EMP Bentu NSD Plant (20 MMSCFD, Q2 2026) and Medco’s Suban Compressor project (118 MMSCFD, Q2 2026), both aimed at offsetting natural decline rates. Additionally, Pertamina Hulu Mahakam will launch the Sisi Nubi project in March 2026, with a gas capacity of 180 MMSCFD and a projected peak of 120 MMSCFD, marking another cornerstone in Indonesia’s strategy to stabilize and strengthen domestic energy supply.Source: https://indonesiabusinesspost.com/6069/energy-and-resources/skk-migas-targets-eight-upstream-oil-and-gas-projects-to-go-onstream-in-2026 (ICE GIACARTA)
