Kuala Lumpur, 11 February 2026 – Maxis Bhd has been appointed the single preferred infrastructure provider and telecommunications partner for the 665km East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) for 10 years, where it will deliver mobile coverage and wireless internet for passengers, as well as manage and commercialise the project’s telecom and fibre assets. The RM75 billion (approximately EUR 15.76 billion) ECRL, owned by Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd, connects Port Klang to Kota Bharu, with construction costs exceeding RM50 billion (approximately EUR 10.50 billion).
