He also congratulated Zou Jiayi on his recent appointment as President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank," the press release states.The meeting addressed issues of bilateral cooperation and plans for further partnership. In particular, it was noted that in the coming years Kazakhstan intends to implement "ambitious plans" to modernize the infrastructure sector, while the AIIB is ready to consider the possibility of "actively participating in the implementation of these strategic initiatives.""Together with the bank, we are implementing 9 projects totaling over $2.6 billion. I am confident that all of them will become important elements of our further contacts and interaction," Tokayev said, according to the report.It is clarified that currently, the AIIB is financing the construction of a multidisciplinary hospital in Kokshetau, a 220 MW wind power plant, sections of the Zhezkazgan-Karaganda and Aktobe-Karabutak-Ulgaysyn highways, and a railway bypassing Almaty.The AIIB is a multilateral development bank founded in 2016, uniting 111 member countries. The bank's authorized capital is $100 billion, with a AAA credit rating. Kazakhstan is a founding member state of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. (ICE ALMATY)
