A Lebanese startup, Beaver Edu, has won the ToyAward in the startup category, one of the toy industry’s most prestigious distinctions, awarded at the Nuremberg Toy Fair.  Founded just three months ago, Beaver Edu developed an educational wooden construction kit made of modular birch wood components that enable unlimited building possibilities. The jury highlighted the toy’s simplicity, safety and strong educational value, combining technical thinking with hands-on learning. The product was developed through R&D partnerships with Lebanese schools and commercially launched in fall 2025. It is currently sold online, in selected schools and through JouéClub, which is also an investor, alongside Toy Market Group.  Beyond products, Beaver Edu is expanding into school-integrated educational programs, working with eight schools in Lebanon. Production is split between Lebanon and China, with plans to fully relocate manufacturing to China to support exports. Following the award, the startup plans to scale locally and expand into Gulf markets, where education sector investment is accelerating. (ICE BEIRUT)
