USDA raises forecast for Kazakhstan's wheat exportsThe U.S. Department of Agriculture has increased its forecast for Kazakhstan's wheat exports in the current marketing year.In its February report, the USDA projects the country will export 9.7 million metric tonnes of wheat during the 2025/2026 marketing year (July-June). This is an upward revision from the January forecast of 9.5 million metric tonnes.The agency also raised its import forecast to 0.7 million metric tonnes from the previous estimate of 0.5 million metric tonnes.The production forecast remains unchanged at 18.9 million metric tonnes. The estimate for opening grain stocks is steady at 4.03 million metric tonnes.For the previous 2024/2025 marketing year, the USDA reports Kazakhstan exported 10.2 million metric tonnes of wheat and imported 0.5 million metric tonnes. Wheat production for that period totaled 18.58 million metric tonnes, with opening stocks in July 2024 estimated at 3.45 million metric tonnes. (ICE ALMATY)
