He outlined sector-specific priorities, including downstream agro-processing for food and energy security, palm oil traceability systems, import substitution for critical raw materials, and interconnected agro-downstream clusters. The chemical, pharmaceutical, and textile industries will focus on reducing imports, modernizing machinery, and strengthening competitiveness, while petrochemical and pharmaceutical sectors will execute “must win” projects to address deficits and secure raw materials. In the metal, machinery, transportation equipment, and electronics sector (ILMATE), the ministry aims to transform Indonesia into a production and technology hub. Plans include boosting domestic component levels in electric vehicles, strengthening semiconductor design and industrial estates, and ensuring the electronics market supports local production.
