INDONESIA AND THE NETHERLANDS DISCUSS CRITICAL UNDERWATER INFRASTRUCTURE security
The Indonesian Navy and the Ministry of Defence of the Kingdom of the Netherlands discussed critical underwater security in the Erasmus Huis Jakarta on Tuesday 10 February. In the discussion, both parties acknowledged the rising significance of the underwater zone as a strategic domain. The discussion also highlighted the potential grey zone and hybrid threats that might emerge. The Indonesian navy highlighted the necessity to prepare a conceptual blueprint for the arrangement and security of underwater pipe and cable systems to be raised in various discussion forums and maritime security cooperation in the region.
