A specialized fisheries exhibition will be held in Bushehr with the confirmed participation of 70 companies from 16 provinces across Iran, according to a provincial official.Secretary-General of the Bushehr Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, Abdolrasoul Gholami, said on Sunday that Bushehr, as a strategic coastal province, plays a key role in Iran’s sea-oriented economy and is considered one of the country’s major production hubs in the fisheries sector.He noted that the Fourth Specialized Exhibition of Bushehr Fisheries Industries will be held from February 17 to 20 at the Bushehr International Exhibition Center. The event will feature 60 booths and 70 companies, including 20 knowledge-based firms.Gholami added that the exhibition has been planned more purposefully than in previous years, aiming not only to showcase capabilities but also to facilitate professional networking, targeted marketing, and investment attraction.He emphasized that the Chamber of Commerce views the event as a strategic tool rather than a promotional showcase, contributing to the advancement of the macro blue economy, economic diplomacy, and higher industry standards.On the sidelines of the exhibition, the National Conference of Aquatic Animal Science will be held on February 17 and 18 in cooperation with the National Shrimp Research Center. The conference will focus on scientific strategies to combat white spot disease in shrimp farming.According to Gholami, 174 scientific papers have been submitted and reviewed by nearly 50 experts, with selected papers offering practical solutions to improve productivity and disease control.Attracting investors for marine projects, promoting sustainable fisheries development, and strengthening Bushehr’s position in the blue economy are among the event’s key objectives.
