Retail trade in Kazakhstan grew by 2.1% in JanRetail trade in Kazakhstan saw a 2.1% % increase compared to January 2025 reaching a total of 1.487 trillion tenge the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms reported.Retail sales of goods by commercial enterprises increased by 3.9%.The share of food products in the total volume of retail trade is 28.9%, non-food products - 71.1%.Compared to January 2025, the sales volume of food products increased by 4.4%, non-food products by 1.3%.As of February 1, 2026, retail businesses held goods worth 1.63 trillion tenge in stock, which is enough to cover 70 days of sales.Retail activity during January 2026 was primarily concentrated in major urban centers. Almaty led with (30.7%), followed by Astana (13.2%), Karaganda (8.3%) and East Kazakhstan (5.9%) regions. (ICE ALMATY)
