KAZAKHSTAN-KTZ-BONDS-YUAN
KTZ issues bonds worth 1.6 billion yuanNational railway company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) has placed coupon bonds on the Astana International Exchange (AIX) of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) worth 1.6 billion yuan ($224 million), the company's press service reported.As many as 1,604,400 bonds with a face value of 1,000 yuan each were placed under the tranche. The coupon rate was set at 4.2% per annum. The bonds mature on December 15, 2028.The company said it is implementing a large-scale investment program to strengthen Kazakhstan's transit and logistics potential. Among the projects underway are the construction of infrastructure at Dostyk-Moyynty, Darbaza-Maktaraal rail secеions, the construction of a bypass railway around Almaty Bakhty-Ayagoz, Altynkol-Zhetygen, and the purchase of new passenger cars from Stadler and locomotives from Alstom and CRRC.These projects are being financed with the involvement of international lenders, including subdivisions of the World Bank Group - the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) - as well as with support from export credit agencies such as US EXIM, BPI-France, and China EXIM.In mid-February, Bloomberg reported, citing sources, that KTZ could hold an IPO in May 2026 and raise about $1 billion. Up to 25% of KTZ shares may be offered to investors. The company is considering a dual listing on the Kazakhstan and London stock exchanges.Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) is a transport, warehousing and distribution company, which is part of Kazakhstan’s National Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna.
