IRAQI CEMENT PLANTS REPORT HIGHER 2025 OUTPUT

The General Company for Iraqi Cement, part of Iraq's Ministry of Industry and Minerals, has reported a notable increase in production across several of its plants during 2025.According to the company, the Babil Cement Plant recorded production growth of more than 13 percent compared with 2024, driven by higher output of sulphate-resistant cement and oil well cement. The improvement followed the plant's receipt of supply certification in line with American Petroleum Institute (API) specifications, enabling it to supply national oil companies and foreign operators under Iraq's licensing rounds.Other plants also reported strong performance during the year:Kubaisa Cement Plant produced more than 1.7 million tonnes, approaching its planned annual capacity of 1.8 million tonnes.Najaf Cement Plant recorded production of more than 116,000 tonnes, reflecting stable operations and fulfilment of operational commitments.Al-Qaim Cement Plant came close to its designed annual capacity of 840,000 tonnes following the implementation of organisational and technical measures. The company said the improvements were supported by better resource management, sustained production lines and adherence to maintenance and operational programmes. It added that efforts are continuing to enhance production levels and operational efficiency across all plants to meet local market demand and support national self-sufficiency. (ICE AMMAN)
