SYRIA, AIRBUS EXPLORE FLEET MODERNIZATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT
Omar al-Hosari, Chairman of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Air Transport, held talks on Tuesday with a high-level delegation from Airbus, headed by Hadi Akoum, Vice President of Sales for Africa and the Middle East, to discuss enhancing and developing prospects for joint cooperation. According to a statement released by the Authority via Telegram, the meeting focused on reviewing various fields of joint action. The Airbus delegation presented a comprehensive briefing on mechanisms to elevate existing cooperation, alongside discussions on updating and reviewing standing agreements between the Authority and the global aerospace leader. These measures aim to ensure the continued development and efficiency of the national air transport system. The meeting was attended by Alessandro Caletti, Airbus Customer Support Director for Africa and the Middle East; Sameh Orabi, Assistant Chairman of the Authority; and Anwar Akkad, CEO of the Syrian Aviation Holding Company. This high-level engagement falls within the ongoing efforts of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Air Transport to modernize the national air fleet and upgrade airport infrastructure. Airbus stands as a preeminent global leader in the aerospace and defense sectors, serving as a cornerstone of international aviation through the design and manufacture of advanced commercial aircraft, helicopters, and space systems.
