Construction work in Kazakhstan grew 14.4% in JanuaryThe volume of construction work in Kazakhstan reached 172 billion tenge in January 2026, up 14.4% from the same period last year, the National Statistics Bureau of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms reported.The largest shares of construction activity were in structures (102.2 billion tenge), non-residential buildings (45.6 billion tenge) and residential buildings (24.2 billion tenge).Construction and installation work totaled 150.6 billion tenge, up 7.5%, while major repairs rose 77.4%, and on current repairs surged 2.5-fold.During the reporting period 2,165 new buildings were completed, including 2,011 residential and 154 non-residential.In addition three secondary schools and two preschool organizations were commissioned.The population of Kazakhstan tops 20.5 million people.
