Kazakhstan boosts honey exports 2.5-fold in 2025Kazakhstan exported 1,477 tonnes of honey in 2025, up 150% from 603 tonnes in 2024, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan reported.The main destination for Kazakh honey was Uzbekistan, which accounted for 1,264 tonnes, or 85.6% of total exports.Kazakh honey was also shipped to Canada, China, Saudi Arabia, Russia and the United States. Exports to Oman were made for the first time.At the same time, honey imports fell sharply in 2025 to 262.4 tonnes from 1,663 tonnes in 2024.According to the ministry, Kazakhstan has around 241,000 bee colonies in the East Kazakhstan, Pavlodar, Almaty, Turkestan, Abai and Zhetysu regions, including 90,200 breeding colonies.Annual honey production in the country totals about 5,000 tonnes, including 2,300 tonnes produced by household farms and 2,700 tonnes by agricultural producers.
