THROUGH THE SIGNING OF JOINT ANNOUNCEMENT, INDONESIA AND THE EUROPEAN UNION strengthen dialogue on Halal cooperation and trade facilitation
As part of ongoing cooperation and dialogue, Indonesia and the European Union signed a Joint Announcement reaffirming their commitment to strengthen collaboration, particularly in halal certification and trade facilitation, during the Indonesian delegation’s High-Level Study Visit on EU Single Market Principles and Indonesian Halal Certification Policy in Brussels on Tuesday (10/2). Through the Joint Announcement, both sides committed to enhancing cooperation across shared interests, improving understanding of the EU Single Market’s implications on Indonesia-EU trade, and continuing dialogue, technical exchanges, and information sharing on halal certification. Further, bilateral talks between Deputy Coordinating Minister for Economic and Investment Cooperation Edi Prio Pambudi and EU Deputy Director-General for Trade Maria Martin-Prat De Abreu focused on aligning halal policies and advancing the IEU-CEPA, reflecting Indonesia’s broader effort to build an open, constructive, and mutually understood economic relationship with the EU. The meeting also addressed progress on the Indonesia-EU CEPA, including the ongoing legal scrubbing process, with Edi Pambudi emphasising Indonesia’s hope for its swift completion to provide certainty for businesses.Source: https://www.ekon.go.id/publikasi/detail/6815/melalui-penandatanganan-joint-announcement-indonesia-dan-uni-eropa-dorong-dialog-kerja-sama-halal-dan-fasilitasi-perdagangan (ICE GIACARTA)
