PERMINAS, NEW ENERGY METALS EXPLORE PARTNERSHIP TO BUILD INTEGRATED RARE EARTH supply chain

Indonesia's state-owned PT Perusahaan Mineral Nasional (Perminas) is partnering with New Energy Metals Holdings Ltd, a minerals developer and investor incorporated in the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), to develop an integrated rare earth supply chain linking the Maboumine mining project in Gabon to downstream processing and manufacturing in Indonesia, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding on Monday (16/2). The collaboration will cover the full rare earth value chain, including mineral separation, refining, metal and alloy production, and permanent magnet manufacturing for applications in electric vehicles, renewable energy, and defence technologies. Executives from Perminas and Indonesia’s sovereign investment agency Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara) emphasised that the partnership supports Indonesia’s downstream industrialisation agenda, strengthens critical mineral supply chains, and adds value to national resources. The MoU also explores direct investment in the Maboumine project, creating a pathway to position Indonesia as a processing and manufacturing hub for strategic minerals and enhance its role in the global rare earth industry.Source: https://indonesiabusinesspost.com/6118/energy-and-resources/perminas-new-energy-metals-explore-partnership-to-build-integrated-rare-earth-supply-chain (ICE GIACARTA)
