Benta Pharma Industries (BPI), a Lebanon-based pharmaceutical and healthcare group, has acquired Italian pharmaceutical manufacturer NerPharMa from NMS Group, the Milano-based company announced in a press release on Feb. 18.  The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. NerPharMa operates as a specialized contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) from its Nerviano site, where the company employs more than 100 staff in Italy.  Accredited by several regulatory authorities, including the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the facility offers integrated manufacturing services covering both drug substance and drug product, including oral solid dosages and injectables, as well as biologics and high-potency products.  The acquisition marks a “significant step” in strengthening Benta’s European industrial platform and expanding its presence in Europe, alongside its existing operations in Lyon, the press release read. It added that the move would enhance the company’s capabilities in oncology, biologics and high-potency manufacturing.  Bernard Tannoury, chairman and CEO of Benta Group, said, “Benta is now positioning itself as a one-stop-shop contract manufacturing partner across all galenic forms, from process chemistry to distribution.” (ICE BEIRUT)
