DANANTARA EYES NEW STATE AIRLINE HOLDING COMPANY BY H1 2026
Danantara Indonesia, the country’s sovereign wealth fund, is preparing to establish a new holding company for state-owned airlines by the first half of 2026. The plan will consolidate Garuda Indonesia, Citilink Indonesia, and Pelita Air Service under one umbrella, with Garuda serving as the parent company. This move is aimed at streamlining operations, improving efficiency, and reducing financial losses, particularly for Garuda, which has faced ongoing financial challenges. The holding company will integrate services such as booking systems, mileage points, and seat management across the three airlines, allowing passengers to switch between carriers more seamlessly. By optimizing fleet use and focusing on high-demand routes, Danantara expects to boost revenue without expanding aircraft numbers, positioning the new structure as a strategic step toward stabilizing and strengthening Indonesia’s aviation sector.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/406290/danantara-eyes-new-state-airline-holding-company-by-h1-2026 (ICE GIACARTA)
