Geropharm localizes production of analog insulin in KazakhstanGeropharm LLC (St. Petersburg) and Karaganda Pharmaceutical Complex LLP (KPC) have started supplies of analog insulin in Kazakhstan, the press service of the St. Petersburg company reported.As part of the project, Geropharm transferred insulin production technologies to the KPC site. Currently, Geropharm supplies active pharmaceutical ingredients from the pharmaceutical company's production facility in St. Petersburg. In turn, the Karaganda Pharmaceutical Complex carries out the full cycle of producing finished dosage forms."This format ensures a deep stage of production localization and the development of the country's pharmaceutical industry," the statement reads.As previously reported, Geropharm and the Karaganda Pharmaceutical Complex signed a long-term contract in 2023 to localize the production of analog insulin in Kazakhstan.Geropharm is a biotechnology company founded in 2000. In October 2013, it launched a full-cycle plant for the production of genetically engineered human insulin in the Moscow region, and at the end of 2018, a facility for the production of insulin substances in St. Petersburg.The company also includes a research and development center that develops drugs for the treatment of diabetes mellitus, including analog insulin, as well as neurological, ophthalmological, and urological drugs. The company's drugs are exported to more than 10 countries.The production site of Karaganda Pharmaceutical Complex LLP for the manufacture of injectable drugs, including an ampouling and freeze-drying workshop, was commissioned in 2005.
