INDONESIA'S CPO TARIFF OFFICIALLY INCREASES TO 12.5%

Indonesia has officially increased the levy on palm oil (CPO) exports to 12.5%, up from the previous 10%. According to Indonesia's Ministry of Finance, the adjustment—outlined in Regulation PMK No. 9/2026, effective 1 March 2026—aims to boost productivity in the plantation sector and enhance value‑added processing at the farmer and industrial levels. The new rate applies to various types of crude palm oil, including low FFA CPO, red palm oil, palm mesocarp oil, and related derivatives. Several other palm‑based products also saw increased levies. For example, crude palm kernel oil and other derivative oils now carry the same 12.5% rate. Meanwhile, products such as crude palm olein and crude palm stearin will be charged 12% (up from 9.5%), and refined products like RBD palm olein will be charged 10% (up from 7.5%). Branded refined palm olein in small packaging and biodiesel FAME now carry 7.25%, previously 4.75%. These adjustments reflect the government’s broader strategy to support downstream palm oil industry development. Source: https://finance.detik.com/industri/d-8383263/ekspor-sawit-kena-getahnya-tarif-cpo-resmi-naik-jadi-12-5 (ICE GIACARTA)
