Kazakhstan plans to extend LPG export ban until mid-NovemberKazakhstan’s Energy Ministry plans to extend the ban on exports of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for another six months starting in May, according to a draft ministerial order published on the government’s legal information portal.“To ensure an uninterrupted supply of liquefied petroleum gas to the domestic market of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a ban on its export from the country is to be introduced for a period of six months, effective May 14, 2026,” the draft order says.The document is open for public discussion until March 19.The restriction will apply to liquefied petroleum gas (EAEU TN VED code 2711 12 970 0), propane (2711 12 940 0) and butane (2711 13 970 0) exported by road and rail.A similar ban was extended in December 2025.The ban on LPG exports by road has been in force in Kazakhstan since 2017 in order to prevent the illegal re-export of low-cost fuel intended for the domestic market.
