BUSINESSES IMPROVED THEIR STILL CAUTIOUS OUTLOOK IN FEBRUARY – NBU SURVEY

Ukrainian businesses slightly improved their economic expectations in February, although sentiment remained cautious due to ongoing war-related risks and energy challenges, according to the Business Outlook Survey by the National Bank of Ukraine. The Business Activity Expectations Index (BAEI) rose to 45.9 in February 2026, up from 41.3 in January, but slightly below 46.9 recorded in February 2025.Business sentiment continued to be weighed down by uncertainty related to the war, damage to energy infrastructure, rising electricity costs, and a shortage of skilled labor. At the same time, steady consumer demand, international financial support, and slowing inflation supported expectations.Companies in all sectors reported some improvement in current performance, although expectations largely remain below neutral levels. Firms also signaled further increases in selling prices, while labor market expectations remained mixed, with only construction companies planning to expand their workforce.https://bank.gov.ua/en/news/all/biznes-polipshiv-strimani-otsinki-rezultativ-svoyeyi-diyalnosti--pidsumki-opituvannya-pidpriyemstv-u-lyutomu (ICE KIEV)
