Sirte Oil and Gas Production and Manufacturing Company says its engineers have drilled the first horizontal well at the Lahib field in the Dor Marada area, using advanced directional drilling technology to develop the Waha–Bahi/Gargaf reservoir. Sirte Oil and Gas Production and Manufacturing Company says its engineers have drilled the first horizontal well at the Lahib field in the Dor Marada area, using advanced directional drilling technology to develop the Waha–Bahi/Gargaf reservoir. The company said the well achieved a stable natural flow of light crude at 61 degrees API, producing 1,870 barrels per day with a wellhead flowing pressure of 1,475 psi. It added that the results exceeded expectations and could help raise the reservoir’s recovery rate. National Oil Corporation Chairman Masoud Suleiman praised the development, saying the project demonstrates the capability of Libyan technical teams to manage complex drilling operations and strengthens the sector’s operational independence (ICE TRIPOLI)
