INDONESIA RAISES LPG IMPORTS TO 7.8 MILLION TONNES, 70% SOURCED FROM US
The ongoing conflict between Israel, the United States, and Iran disrupted the energy flows within the Middle Eastern region, especially the shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz. With liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) imports through the Middle East getting tougher, Indonesia is going to increase its imports of LPG from 7.3 million tonnes to 7.8 million tonnes, with 70% of the supply coming from the United States, said the Indonesian Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia. Said imports are also unaffected by US trade deals, considering that USD 15 billion worth of imports from the US is in line with market prices and significantly cheaper than from other countries.
