CREATIVITY AND VISION FLOURISH AT HONG KONG JEWELRY SHOWS | MARKET PULSE | HKTDC

Creativity and vision flourish at Hong Kong jewelry shows | Market Pulse | HKTDC Italian jewelry is celebrated globally for its craftsmanship, quality, and timeless elegance. Incorporating centuries-old traditions into modern designs, this dynamic industry is a major cultural and economic force worldwide. The Italian Trade Agency has been working closed with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council for almost a quarter of a century to help Italian jewelers leverage the Hong Kong platform to drive sales in Asia and beyond. In 2025, the ITA gathered 107 exhibitors at the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, the largest showing for a European pavilion. A further 18 participated in the Italian pavilion at the HKTDC Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show. The latter show returns from March 2 to 6, while the Jewellery Show will be staged from March 4 to 8. Forming the world’s largest one-stop jewelry marketplace, the twin shows’ ongoing success is a testament to Hong Kong’s enduring appeal as a major international jewelry trading hub. Last year’s fairs attracted over 82,000 buyers from 141 countries and regions. Many Italian companies are long-term exhibitors. Jewelry maker Giovanni Ferraris first displayed its original collections at the Jewellery Show in 2013. “I appreciate this exhibition because it attracts a diverse group of clients from Asia, including Taiwan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand,” remarked its vice president Carrie Lee. “I consider this show to be one of the best in the world with the HKTDC’s clear organization and layout.” Another long-time participant, jewelry maker Rosita Gioielli D’Amare, has been participating in the show since 2005. In recent years, more buyers from the Chinese mainland have been attending the show, noted the company’s owner Sergio Giusti. “Hong Kong is a bridge between the East and West, and a city of the whole world, bringing us more opportunities.” Borriello Massimo first attended the industry staple as an exhibitor in 2006. “We love the Hong Kong show very much,” commented the company’s director Rosaria Borriello. “It’s the perfect place to do business and meet customers from everywhere.” Sales from the Hong Kong exhibition contribute more than 20 percent of business, she added. “This show is really important for business expansion.” ITA – run under the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation – promotes foreign trade and Italy’s exports. The agency also collaborates with other HKTDC fairs across diverse sectors, including electronics, houseware, wine and spirits, medical products, and greentech, enabling Italian businesses to connect with buyers and partners from around the world. https://www.thestandard.com.hk/insights/article/324995/ (ICE HONG KONG)
