PT PUPUK INDONESIA PREPARES 7 REVITALIZATION PROJECTS UNTIL 2029

PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) is preparing seven major investment projects to revitalize aging fertilizer factories across Indonesia by 2029. With nearly 70% of its 20 factories operating for more than two decades, the company aims to modernize facilities in Aceh, Gresik, Bontang, Kujang, Palembang, and West Papua. These projects include building new plants such as Pusri 3B, NPK Ponska 6, and soda ash facilities, as well as revamping ammonia-urea factories. The goal is to boost efficiency, expand production capacity, and ensure sufficient supply of subsidized fertilizers for national needs. Several projects have already reached groundbreaking or construction stages, while others remain in preparation. In parallel, the Indonesian government plans to build seven new fertilizer factories within 5–10 years, with five targeted for completion by 2029, backed by a IDR50 trillion investment. Indonesia's Agriculture Minister, Andi Amran Sulaiman, emphasized that new factories will cut gas raw material usage nearly in half compared to older plants, reducing production costs by over 25% and lowering dependence on imports. Together, the revitalization and new construction projects represent a strategic effort to modernize Indonesia’s fertilizer industry, enhance efficiency, and strengthen food security.Source: https://ekonomi.bisnis.com/read/20260308/257/1958679/pupuk-indonesia-siapkan-7-proyek-revitalisasi-hingga-2029-simak-perinciannya (ICE GIACARTA)
