INDONESIA'S DANANTARA LAUNCHES LOW COST HOUSING IN MEIKARTA WORTH IDR 16 TLN

The Indonesian sovereign wealth agency Danantara has launched a major low‑income housing project in Meikarta, Cikarang, following a 31.3‑hectare land grant from the Riady family to the state. For the first phase, Danantara is allocating IDR14–16 trillion to build 18 residential towers on 12.8 hectares, led by state-owned contractors in partnership with the private sector. The full project targets 141,000 housing units across 52 towers in four stages, with vertical construction starting August 17, 2026, and the first units delivered by August 8, 2028. The initiative is positioned as a key driver of President Prabowo’s 3 Million Houses Program, with officials projecting a 1.5–2% GDP boost due to its impact on 185 related industries. It also addresses Indonesia’s significant housing deficit, including 9–15 million families without adequate homes and 27 million living in uninhabitable conditions. The land, valued at IDR6.2 trillion, has been thoroughly vetted with the KPK (Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission) to ensure legal clarity. The groundbreaking event was attended by top government officials and Lippo Group leaders.Source: https://indonesiabusinesspost.com/6263/business-and-investment/danantara-launches-low-cost-housing-in-meikarta-worth-rp16t  (ICE GIACARTA)
