ENERGY EXPERT: JORDAN QUICKLY FEELS THE IMPACT OF WAR BUT CAN ABSORB SHOCKS
Economic expert and energy researcher Amer Shobaki said that Jordan may be among the countries in the region most affected by the repercussions of the ongoing war, but it is also among the most capable of absorbing shocks and adapting to crises. Shobaki told JO24 that the Jordanian economy is highly sensitive to regional escalation, particularly through rising energy prices, declining tourism, and disruptions to trade and transportation routes across the region. He added that Jordan, however, has extensive experience in managing economic and geopolitical crises, giving it the ability to adapt to changing conditions and limit the scale of potential damage compared to other countries in the region.
