CROATIA AMONG FASTEST-GROWING EU ECONOMIES IN 4Q2025 WITH 1.4% GDP GROWTH

According to estimates by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union (EU), released on 6 March, Croatia was among the EU countries with the strongest economic growth in the 4Q2025, recording a 1.4% increase in seasonally adjusted gross domestic product (GDP) compared with the previous quarter. On an annual basis, Croatia’s economy grew by 3.3% in the 4Q2025, up from 2.6% growth in the 2Q2025.Eurostat estimates show that, Croatia was among the EU countries with the strongest economic growth in the 4Q2025, recording a 1.4% increase in seasonally adjusted GDP compared with the previous quarter, when it had grown by 0.4%.This placed Croatia among the top performers in the EU, alongside Cyprus, and just behind Malta (2.1%) and Lithuania (1.7%).Meanwhile, according to revised data from n Eurostat, seasonally adjusted GDP in the eurozone and the EU grew by 0.2% in the 4Q2025 compared with the previous quarter. For the whole of 2025, the eurozone economy grew by 1.4% and the EU economy by 1.5%, accelerating from 0.9% and 1.1% growth respectively in 2024.Eurostat data also showed that on an annual basis, the eurozone economy grew by 1.2% in the 4Q2025, while the economy of the EU increased by 1.4%, slightly slower than in the previous quarter.During the same period, Croatia’s economy grew by 3.3% year-on-year, up from 2.6% in the 3Q2025, while only Romania recorded a decline (1.5%).
