Siberian scientists share research hub expertise with Kazakh colleaguesScientists from the Siberian branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences have discussed the development of research cities and technology parks with Kazakhstan's Atomic Energy Agency, the academy reported.A delegation led by Siberian branch chairman Valentin Parmon shared expertise on building scientific and technological centers that integrate education, research and industry, according to a statement on the academy's website."The discussions focused on applying these practices to the development of Kurchatov and the Alatau settlement near Almaty, which are seen as potential growth points for Kazakhstan's scientific and technological development," according to the statement.The parties also discussed the possibility of Kazakh researchers participating in the Siberian Ring Photon Source project, a advanced research facility that will enable cutting-edge studies in materials science, energy, biomedicine, pharmaceuticals, food processing and other high-tech fields.According to the Kazakh Atomic energy agency's website, both sides noted the strong potential for joint research and experience sharing, and expressed interest in further strengthening scientific and technological cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia.
