A Syrian delegation, headed by Governor of the Central Bank of Syria,  Abdulkader Husrieh, met on Tuesday with the Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC)-Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) John Brandolino, and Chief of the Corruption and Economic Crime Branch, Brigitte Strobel–Shaw.  During the meeting, Strobel–Shaw affirmed the international organization’s support for Syria in addressing the challenges related to corruption and economic crime, and the Office’s readiness to enhance technical cooperation and provide expertise and assistance that contribute to strengthening the capacity of Syrian institutions to combat fraud and economic crimes. Later, the World Anti-Fraud Summit in Vienna concluded its activities with the participation of a Syrian delegation, headed by Governor of the Central Bank of Syria, Abdulkader Husrieh.  The summit stressed the importance of international cooperation in confronting financial and digital fraud crimes, the need to exchange information and experiences between countries and relevant institutions, and the development of modern tools and technologies that keep pace with evolving fraud methods.
