Kazakhstan may boost vegetable oil exports to China by a third in 2026 – associationKazakhstan may increase exports of fat-and-oil products to China by about one-third in 2026, from 440,000 tonnes to more than 580,000 tonnes, the National Association of Oilseed Processors told Interfax-Kazakhstan.“In the twelve months of 2025, exports of Kazakhstan-made fat-and-oil products to China rose by 44% to 440,000 tonnes, while export revenue increased by $84 million to $312 million. Kazakhstan moved up to second place among sunflower oil suppliers to China and ranked among the top five suppliers of rapeseed oil in 2024 and 2025,” the association said in response to a query.The association estimates that exports to China could exceed 580,000 tonnes in 2026, with revenue reaching around $412 million.The growth is expected to be supported by measures to improve logistics efficiency. The association noted that since February 2024, a pilot mechanism has been implemented in cooperation with Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, the national railway operator, to coordinate shipment plans for vegetable oil transported in rail tank cars via the Dostyk–Alashankou border crossing, according to the association.
