FESCO delivers first batch of Vietnamese automobiles to Kazakhstan via VladivostokFESCO Transportation Group (FESCO), which is managed by the Rosatom state corporation, has organized the intermodal transportation of the first batch of automobiles from Vietnam to Kazakhstan via Vladivostok, the company said."Containers with passenger cars assembled in Vietnam were sent from Haiphong port via the FESCO Vietnam Direct Line maritime service to Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port (MOEX: VMTP) (VMTP, part of FESCO). After arriving in the Far East, the cargo was placed on flat cars and sent by rail to Almaty," it said.The total duration of the intermodal transportation was 27 days. The train with 122 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) arrived at the destination station on March 24.FESCO plans to develop regular shipments of automobiles from Vietnam to Kazakhstan, including using direct land routes through China."In the future, we plan to make such shipments regular, and we are also working on the possibility of transportation to Uzbekistan and Russia. For this, FESCO has all the necessary assets and competencies," the deputy general director for FESCO's line and logistics division, German Maslov, was quoted as saying.FESCO Transportation Group (parent company: PJSC Far Eastern Shipping Company) owns assets in the port, railway and integrated logistics business. FESCO owns PJSC Commercial Port of Vladivostok, the FESCO Integrated Transport intermodal operator, the Dalreftrans refrigerated container operator, as well as the Transgarant and FESCO Trans companies.The group manages terminal complexes in Novosibirsk, Khabarovsk, Tomsk, Vladivostok and Kaliningrad. The company manages a container fleet of over 200,000 TEU and nearly 15,000 flat cars. The group's fleet includes more than 30 vessels, which operate primarily on the company's own shipping lines. In November 2023, a controlling stake in FESCO (92.5%) was transferred to Rosatom by a decree of the Russian president. (ICE ALMATY)
