EAEU mutual trade expected to rise 6.3% in 2026 to $101.1 blnMember states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) expect mutual trade to maintain positive momentum in 2026, with turnover projected to increase by 6.3% to $101.1 billion from $95.1 billion, the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) said.The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council reviewed a report on the macroeconomic situation in member states and recommendations for sustainable economic development at a meeting in Shymkent on Friday.“The value of mutual trade in the EAEU reached $95.1 billion in 2025, with growth of 5.9% in the fourth quarter, providing a basis for continued positive dynamics in 2026. Mutual trade is expected to increase by 6.3% to $101.1 billion. Efforts are underway to remove barriers to access to the internal market, harmonize non-tariff regulation and administrative procedures, and further develop the EAEU’s integrated information system. Unified rules for cross-border e-commerce are also being established,” the EEC said.The union’s aggregate GDP grew by 1.7% in 2025, driven primarily by the services sector, construction and strong domestic consumption amid record-low unemployment.“The aggregate GDP growth of EAEU member states in 2026-2027 is projected at around 2.5% per year on average. To ensure long-term sustainability, the Eurasian Economic Commission is working to expand production capacity, support labor mobility and strengthen internal financial and trade ties within the union,” the commission said.
