KAZAKHSTAN-AZERBAIJAN-MIDDLE-CORRIDOR
Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan to sign TITR transit corridor agreement in 2026 - Kazakh PMKazakhstan plans to sign an intergovernmental agreement with Azerbaijan this year to develop the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov said Thursday.Speaking at a meeting of Turkic states' government leaders in Baku, Bektenov said the TITR is emerging as one of the most reliable and safe transit routes amid growing geopolitical tensions that have disrupted trade and supply chains."We intend to sign the corresponding intergovernmental agreement with Azerbaijan this year," Bektenov said, according to the Azerbaijani news agency Report.Bektenov also said the Turkic Investment Fund, which has $600 million in capital, will begin operations soon and become a key tool for economic integration among Turkic nations.The agreement to establish the fund was signed at a 2023 summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Ankara. The fund's capital was contributed equally by six countries, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Hungary, each providing $100 million.The fund aims to support joint projects in infrastructure, renewable energy, agriculture, tourism and information technology.
