INDONESIA'S MINISTRY OF TRADE EASES EXPORT REGULATIONS FOR INDUSTRIAL TIN & COAL

Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade has issued two new regulations—Minister of Trade Regulation (Permendag) No. 5 of 2026 and No. 6 of 2026—as part of a broader deregulation effort to simplify export licensing and improve the investment climate. Effective from April 1, 2026, the rules amend existing export and export‑ban regulations by removing several obligations, sanctions, and restrictive documents. Trade Minister Budi Santoso said the policy responds to global trade dynamics and business demands for faster, more efficient export processes. The new regulations relax export requirements for several strategic commodities, including industrial tin, oil and gas, and coal, by reducing licensing documents and easing operational obligations. The government is also promoting digitalization through automated and integrated export licensing systems linked to the Indonesia National Single Window to speed up verification and reduce administrative barriers. Additional changes include legal harmonization across agencies, revised authority over certain export documents, and updated validity periods for specific commodities. The Ministry hopes these measures will strengthen Indonesia’s trade balance and provide greater legal certainty for exporters amid global uncertainty.Source: https://ekonomi.bisnis.com/read/20260408/44/1965027/kemendag-longgarkan-aturan-ekspor-timah-industri-hingga-batu-bara (ICE GIACARTA)
