KTZ increased rail freight transportation by 0.6% to 64.5 mln tonnes in Q1National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC (KTZ) transported 64.5 million tonnes of cargo in the first quarter of 2026, which is 360,000 tonnes (0.6%) more than in the same period of 2025, KTZ's press service reported.Domestic transportation amounted to 40.8 million tonnes (at the level of the previous year), while exports reached 23.7 million tonnes (+2.2%).In the reporting period, KTZ transported 27.4 million tonnes of coal (+3%), of which 19.8 million tonnes were delivered to the domestic market (+4%).Grain loading increased by 15.4% to 4.1 million tonnes, while exports rose by 17.5% to 3.3 million tonnes. Export transportation of milled products increased by 6.2% to 570,000 tonnes.Transportation of ferrous metals grew by 18% (to 1.3 million tonnes), iron and manganese ore by 14% (2.7 million tonnes), and fertilizers by 3% (1.2 million tonnes).Kazakhstan Temir Zholy is a state-controlled transport and logistics company.
