Kazakhstan grain exports up 13.8% to 9.9 million tonnes in 2025-26 marketing yearKazakhstan exported 9.9 million tonnes of grain as of April 8 since the start of the 2025-26 agricultural year, a 13.8% increase from 8.7 million tonnes during the same period a year earlier, the Agriculture Ministry said.The agricultural year runs from September through August.Export growth was recorded across key markets. Shipments to Uzbekistan rose 15% to 8.4 million tonnes from 7.3 million tonnes. Exports to Kyrgyzstan nearly doubled, rising 70% to 393,000 tonnes from 233,000 tonnes. Deliveries to Afghanistan increased 36% to 1.5 million tonnes from 1.1 million tonnes, while exports to Turkmenistan grew 50% to 156,000 tonnes from 105,000 tonnes.The ministry has set a target of exporting 13 million tonnes of new-crop grain in the current agricultural year, nearly matching the previous year’s volume.Kazakhstan increased its grain harvest by 2% in 2025 to 27 million tonnes, with average yield at 1.7 metric tonnes per hectare. In 2024, farmers harvested 26.5 million tonnes at an average yield of 1.6 metric tonnes per hectare. (ICE ALMATY)
