SYRIA CONCLUDES AGRO SYRIA EXHIBITION IN DAMASCUS WITH BROAD PARTICIPATION

The fourth Syria International Exhibition for Agricultural Mechanization, Livestock and Agricultural Production Supplies, “Agro Syria,” concluded Sunday evening at the Damascus Fairgrounds with the participation of more than 120 local, Arab and international companies.  The exhibition was organized by Mashhadani International Group for Exhibitions in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, the Union of Agricultural Chambers, the General Farmers’ Union, and the Syrian syndicates of veterinarians and agricultural engineers.  Director of Agricultural Economics and Planning at the Ministry of Agriculture Saeed Ibrahim said the current edition witnessed wide participation by Arab and international companies, in addition to strong attendance by visitors and investors who followed the ministry’s activities during the past year after liberation.  Ibrahim noted that the ministry organized extended dialogue sessions during the exhibition involving executives from participating companies, ministry experts and researchers from international organizations.  The sessions addressed key challenges facing companies and possible solutions, with discussions producing practical recommendations based on shared expertise.  He added that the ministry also distributed an electronic survey to participating entities to evaluate how well company products meet the needs of the Syrian market, identify gaps in supply and determine obstacles facing businesses that government institutions could help resolve.   Director General of the organizing group Khalaf Mashhadani said the exhibition attracted more than 14,000 visitors over four days, including over 40 VIP buses from Syrian provinces carrying agricultural and veterinary specialists, in addition to visitors from Jordan, Lebanon and Türkiye.  Mashhadani said attendance exceeded expectations despite exceptional global conditions linked to ongoing conflicts and airport closures, noting that the exhibition’s success would be assessed based on feedback from participants and visitors.  The exhibition also witnessed the signing of 12 agreements between participating companies, alongside the announcement of a new holding company and several scientific lectures and workshops organized by the Ministry of Agriculture in cooperation with sector specialists.  Visitors highlighted the diversity of participating companies, which allowed them to explore the latest agricultural technologies in one place and communicate directly with experts and industry representatives.  Launched on April 9, the exhibition showcased modern agricultural machinery, irrigation technologies, renewable energy solutions, livestock and poultry equipment, and agricultural production supplies, while serving as a platform for technology transfer and cooperation between Syrian and international companies in support of economic recovery and sustainable development.
