METLEN AND NAVAL SIGN MOU FOR SUBMARINE AND FRIGATE PROJECTS in international markets
METLEN and the Naval Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aiming to explore potential areas of cooperation in the sector of submarines and surface vessels. MoU constitutes one more step toward strengthening the already established cooperation between the two companies, positioning METLEN as a strategic partner within Naval Group’s supply chain. The French company is already leveraging METLEN’s expertise in manufacturing key components for FDI frigates, intended for both the Greek and French programs. At the same time, it is acknowledged that METLEN’s specialization creates prospects for expanding cooperation across multiple naval platforms, including both surface vessels and submarines, with a view toward international markets. The agreement reflects the ambition of both parties to support complex naval systems and contribute to the development of a competitive European defense ecosystem, while also reinforcing Franco-Greek industrial cooperation. The collaboration between the two companies began in 2022, as part of the FDI frigate program for the Hellenic Navy, with Naval Group implementing a Greek Industrial Participation program involving more than 70 Greek companies.Beyond this specific program, the partnership has already generated economic benefits for Greek industry, facilitating the integration of Greek companies into Naval Group’s supply chain for both current and future projects. On its part, METLEN continues to invest in the defense industry, including through the development of an industrial hub comprising six factories in Volos (M Technologies Defence Hub), thereby strengthening its role in supporting European defense programs and enhancing strategic autonomy in the defense sector.
