LITTLE KNOWN SOLAR COMPANY HELIOS PHOTOVOLTAIC PLANS FRANKFURT IPO, LAUNCHES RM5.5 BIL SOLAR PARK RESORT IN KELANTAN

Kuala Lumpur, 7 April 2026 – Renewable energy firm Helios Photovoltaic Sdn Bhd has filed its prospectus for a planned IPO on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, targeting a May 2026 listing with SMC Investmentbank AG appointed to manage the exercise. Fully owned by CEO Datuk Ong Thuan Ming, the company oversees several subsidiaries in solar and energy solutions, and recently reported a turnaround to RM24 million (approximately EUR 5.32 million) net profit for FY2025, largely driven by one-off gains, while maintaining minimal cash reserves and no bank borrowings. As part of its growth strategy, Helios is expanding across Europe and Asia and has launched a major RM5.5 billion (approximately EUR 1.22 billion) solar park, wildlife conservation, and resort project in Kelantan under Malaysia’s Corporate Renewable Energy Supply Scheme (CRESS). The project will feature a 1,000MWp solar facility with battery storage and is expected to begin operations between 2028 and 2029. Helios also aims to attract investors through its “Zero Net Energy Lots” model, allowing participation in renewable energy projects without direct infrastructure management, aligning with ESG and decarbonisation goals.Source - https://theedgemalaysia.com/node/798899 (ICE KUALA LUMPUR)
